Research indicates that over a billion people across the world live with some form of disability which corresponds to more than half of a quarter of the total world population. Quiet more frightening this number is at an upward roar. We are faced with more than half of a quarter of the world’s population requiring health care services. Apparently, anyone is likely to experience some form of disability be it temporary or permanent at a certain point in life. Disability although not inability without proper care could render the individual incapacitated and dependent. The Amazing thing is every now and then the number of persons living with disability is increasing and although health services do exist for people with disability, they are mostly of poor quality or under resourced. Disability is extremely diverse. Some health conditions associated with disability leads to poor health and comprehensive healthcare needs, others do not. Nevertheless, all people with disability require the same general healthcare needs and therefore should have access to the mainstream healthcare services.
